This article examines the UFC's female flyweight division. We will also look at the perfect record of Shevchenko and the rise of Calvillo, who's making a move up to fight higher-ranked opponents. Also, we'll be looking at Jedrzejczyk’s title defense.
Women's Flyweight UFC is defeated
The UFC's women's flyweight division, which is still relatively new, is growing rapidly. The division has two champions at the moment, Nicco Monteno and Valentina Schevchenko. Montano, who is Chickasaw, Navajo, and Hispanic, fell in love early with MMA. She's coming off a win against Joanne Wood in the first round.

Shevchenko's flawless record in the UFC
Valentina "Bullet" Shevchenko is the current UFC women's flyweight champion. She is 22-3 with six wins, one loss. She is considered one of the world's best Muay Thai fighters, and has beaten four former UFC champions.
Calvillo rises to the challenge against higher-ranking opponents
Calvillo made the decision to fight higher-ranked opponents after struggling in her last three fights. She started at the 56th per centile on the DKFP, and she beat Jessica Andrade, Katlyn Cragian, and Nina Nunes. Calvillo isn't ranked anymore but she has the potential of improving her MMA career.
Jedrzejczyk's title defence
Joanna Jedrzejczyk (Polish mixed martial artist) is an example of this. She has been a UFC competitor for the last five year. Jedrzejczyk got her start in kickboxing. She lost three straight kickboxing fights to Valentina Shevchenko, a former UFC champion. This fight will be her first title defence in the UFC.
Calvillo’s career
UFC records are not good for Cynthia Calvillo. She is currently on a three-fight losing streak and could lose another fight. Although she's only 35, her UFC career isn't as bright as her record.

Tracy Cortez's career
Tracy Cortez's journey to the UFC began at a young age, when she grew up in Arizona. Her parents were immigrants, and she grew up in a home where she was the only girl. In her early years she was not allowed sports. While she initially was interested in interior design and physical therapy (both of which she later switched to), her passion for mixed martial arts led her to become a specialist in the field. The sport has become an integral part of her everyday life.
