The world of sports media is full of women who have to balance their work and social lives. However, some have broken through this glass ceiling. Linda Cohn, an ESPN trailblazer, has paved the way. Since being hired in 1992, Cohn has evolved into one of the network's most versatile personalities.

Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick, a NASCAR race driver, is an award-winning driver. She was a champion driver in multiple NASCAR races and was voted the sport's most loved driver many times. Danica is an avid fitness fan and philanthropist, in addition to her racing career. Danica has a loyal following because of her beautiful personality and fit body.

Patrick began her career driving karts, but quickly moved to racing. In 2005 she became the youngest person ever to win the Indianapolis 500. Currently, she is the only female driver to have won the IndyCar Series. She continues to break the female sports record.

Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn, a well-known skier who is also a world-class athlete, is well-known. She is one the most decorated female athletes in the history. She has won many world titles, including the downhill world championships, three world championships in a row, and the overall world cup championship. She is a role model for women who are interested in sports.

Lindsey Vonn was a Minnesota native who began skiing at a young age. At seven years old, she began racing and then moved on to international competitions. She competed in World Junior Championships and World Cup events, and became a World Cup champion in 2004. Vonn won the 2008 World Cup title, as well as the 2010 World Cup title.

Michelle Kwan

Michelle Kwan's interest in figure skating began at a young age. At five years old, she began skating with her older sister. She fell in love with figure skating and continued to follow her. Danny and Estella Kwan, her parents, were immigrants from Hong Kong, China. The Kwans first met at a school reunion. Her father was a telephone company worker, and her mother ran Torrance's Golden Pheasant in California. Michelle started serious training at age eight. She would train for up to four hours each day. However, her time commitment was so significant that her family had to struggle to pay.


In the fall of 2003, Kwan hired noted technician Rafael Arutyunyan as her coach. The pair skated to "The Feeling Begins" in the short program and "Tosca” in the long program. Kwan tied Maribel Vinson Owen's record in U.S. women’s figure skating with nine titles at the U.S. Championships. The following year, Kwan qualified for the Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, where she competed under a new judging system. Kwan lost to a triple salchow, and two-footed with a triple lutz at the World Championships.

Cari Champion

Cari Champion, a prominent broadcast reporter, is well-known in sports. She is also the co-anchor of ESPN's noon show. She has extensive broadcast journalism experience and is well-versed in sports. She will actually speak on the 2019 program track "Pushing to the Limits Human Performance."

Cari Champion grew up in Pasadena, California, and attended UCLA. She has one older sister and two younger brothers. She has not been married yet, and is not currently in any public relationships.

Li Na

Li Na is a famous Chinese tennis player. Her humble background as the daughter a tennis player and an athlete saw her rise to prominence. Now she is one the best tennis players in the country and one of their most wealthy women. Most of her Chinese compatriots hadn't seen her play before her fame.

She is well-known for her self-confidence as well as her ability inspire young Chinese. Her contributions are not limited to sports. Li Na is also an influential cultural entrepreneur who is influencing the Chinese society beyond sport.
