A few professional golfers have worn very transparent clothing. Paige Spiranac is one example. She was known to wear a small skirt on the golf course before the dress codes were enforced. Male golfers were critical of this practice, accusing the LPGA and other golfers of body-shaming women. However, today the dress code has been relaxed.

Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson, an American professional golfer, plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. She became a professional when she was 15 years old. She has been qualified for numerous other major championships. She won her first LPGA championship in June 2016.

At twelve years of age, she was the youngest woman ever to compete in the US Women's Open. She was 16 years old when she became the youngest LPGA winner, and won her first tournament. At twenty-years old, she was the youngest LPGA winner and is one of the most fit athletes in the world. She practices for three hour, plays 18-holes, eats lunch, then works out with a personal trainer. In addition to the LPGA Tour, Thompson also donates her time to charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project.

Thompson was one of most exciting players in the game in 2015, but she's had a tough year in 2021. She led by five shots at 2021's US Women's Open, but she failed to capitalize. She won the LGPA Japan Tour and Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th in the Rolex Player Rankings. Last spring, she was 17th in both the Lotte Championship as well as the ANA Inspiration. She also missed her chance to win the Avnet Golf Classic's second major tournament.

Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire, an Irishwoman, became the first to win the LPGA Tour's Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27-year-old finished on -18, three strokes ahead of Lexi Thompson. Maguire started out the season with five birdies and went into the final round tied with Marina Alex. She birdied the 11th, 10th, and 13th holes in order to win the title.

While the 2020 season was generally positive for the Irishwoman with some low points in the beginning stages, there were a few negative aspects. She missed 16 LPGA Match-Play matches in May but bounced back to her best form this summer. Maguire attributes her success to a variety of experiences, both positive and negative, from which she has learned. Positive experiences boost confidence and negative ones are reality checks.
