One thing you might have noticed about professional golfers is the number of female players wearing very open clothing. Paige Spiranac for example was known to have worn a short skirt on the course prior to the introduction of a dress code. Male golfers criticized the LPGA for shaming female players. However, today, the dress code was lifted.

Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson (American professional golfer) plays on LPGA Tour. She was 12 years old when she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. She became a professional at the age of 15. She has been qualified for numerous other major championships. She won her first LPGA championship in June 2016.

At twenty-years old, she was the youngest LPGA winner and is one of the most fit athletes in the world. She practices for three hours every day and plays 18 holes. Then she eats lunch and goes to work with a coach. Thompson volunteers her time for charities such as Wounded Warrior Project, in addition to the LPGA Tour.

Thompson was one among the most popular players around the world in 2015 but has struggled in 2021. She held a five-shot advantage at the US Women's Open 2021 but was unable to capitalize. Since then, she has won the LGPA Japan Tour as well as the Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th in the Rolex Player Rankings. She finished 17th in last spring's Lotte Championship, and 17th overall at the ANA Inspiration. She also missed out on a chance at winning her second major tournament at Avnet Classic LPGA.

Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire won the Drive On Championship, Florida to become the first Irishwoman winner on the LPGA Tour. The 27-year old finished at -18, three strokes better than Lexi Thompson. Maguire opened the season with five birdies. She finished the final round tied for second with Marina Alex. To claim the title, Maguire birdied the 10th and 11th holes.

The 2020 season was mostly positive for the Irishwoman, with a few low points in the early stages of the season. She missed the last 16 of the LPGA Match-Play in May, but bounced back to produce her best form during the summer. Maguire said that her success can be attributed to many experiences she has had, both good and not so good. Positive experiences help build confidence, while negative ones serve as reality checks.
