Hope Solo pleads guilty driving while intoxicated
Hope Solo, a U.S. soccer player, pleaded guilty for driving while intoxicated. Forsyth County's judge sentenced Hope Solo to suspended sentences, active sentences of 30 days, and substance abuse assessments. Solo was awarded credit by the judge, for the time she spent at a rehabilitation center. The sentence includes a $2,500 fine and the obligation to complete a substance abuse assessment.

She was arrested in a Walmart parking lot
Hope Solo's arrest in Winston-Salem Walmart parking lot, North Carolina has made her a news figure for several reasons. The mother of two was arrested for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest. These charges were added to the misdemeanor child abuse. Hope Solo was found unconscious in the driver's chair by a witness, so officers pulled her over. Solo was asleep in her car seat with her two children.
She was charged with misdemeanor child abuse
Hope Solo, former goalkeeper for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI), resisting police arrest and misdemeanor abuse of children. After further investigation, it became clear that Solo was also facing misdemeanor child cruelty charges. Solo was accused of domestic violence and the police supported her charges.
In 2016, she was removed from the Women's National Team.
Hope Solo, a former U.S. Women's National Team participant, was removed from the team for 30 consecutive days after being charged with domestic violence. This was the result of an altercation with her half-sister and her 17-year-old nephew. She will be eligible to participate in the USWNT's February match again. Following reports that Solo had a drinking problem, Solo was reported to have been intoxicated while driving in a U.S. soccer vehicle.

She's had several runs-ins with the law enforcement
Hope Solo, a retired soccer player has had numerous run-ins in the courts with law enforcement. In 2014, she was charged with assault and two misdemeanors. She pleaded not guilty to the charges, but they were ultimately dismissed because of procedural violations. Earlier this year, the city of Kirkland dropped domestic violence charges against the soccer star. Meanwhile, Solo denied all accusations.
