After an arrest on March 31, Solo was accused of driving under the influence and misdemeanor abuse of children. The two-time Olympic medalist is currently appealing to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. However, it has been pushed back until 2023. She was found unconscious behind the wheel and with her twins in the backseat. According to reports Hope Solo became so drunk that she couldn't perform a field test of sobriety and follow the instructions given by the police officer. She was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting arrest, as well as misdemeanor child abuse.

The arrest occurred one month after Hope Solo was initially scheduled to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Hope has requested that the ceremony be postponed until 2023 so she can attend the program and focus on her recovery and her family. Hope's induction date was originally scheduled for May 21, but the Hall of Fame has accepted her request for a deferment. Hope's decision to defer her induction was approved by the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame looks forwards to honoring Hope at the next ceremony.
