Rose Lavelle, a Cincinnati-based soccer player. She started playing soccer as a child in the YMCA youth coed leagues. She didn't smile, celebrate or even celebrate when she scored her very first goal. Instead she just continued to play the game. She played for several local soccer teams, including Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. She also played college soccer for the University of Wisconsin.
Lavelle grew into a Cincinnati native and attended Mount Notre Dame High School. Later she received a scholarship at the University of Wisconsin. Today, she plays for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL. Neil Bradford, a Cincinnati Soccer trainer helped Lavelle discover her passion for soccer.
Lavelle is a former representative of the United States women’s National Team at both the youth and senior levels. In November 2015, she was named the top midfielder in the Big Ten. NSCAA gave her the honor of being first-team American. Lavelle was also a member of the Dayton Dutch Lions W-League team in 2014, and the Seattle Sounders Women W-League team in 2015. Lavelle joined Washington Spirit after graduating college. She then returned to Dayton for the start of the 2016 Women's Premier Soccer League season.

This was when she began to feel frustrated. She felt that she wasn’t making progress and wasn’t prepared for the rigors associated with playing for the National Team. However, she was able break through after a meeting with Coach Wilkins.
Rose Lavelle plays soccer for the Badgers but is also an active participant in the university's community services programs. She has been heavily involved in Wish Upon a Badger Experience and Women's Soccer, as well as the Thank-A-Thon and Youth Soccer Clinics. She has been a brand ambassador for FLIGHT by Yuengling, a premium light beer.

Rose Lavelle is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was just 15 when she became a member of the U.S. Women's National Team. She recently participated in the SheBelieves Cup, Czech Republic. Although the USWNT lost the game, they beat their opponents 18-6. Rose Lavelle was named Budweiser Woman of the Match.
Lavelle was injures in a friendly game against Australia in June 2017. However, she was able to return to the USWNT in time for the final match. She displayed great creativity throughout the tournament and was highly praised by her teammates and coaches as a breakout performer.
Lavelle has been to the World Cup for the United States. She played against Thailand in her World Cup debut, but she sat out against Chile. Later, she was back against Sweden to assist the United States in their attacks.
