American mixed martial artist Liz Carmouche is openly lesbian. She is currently the Bellator Women's Flyweight World Champion and has fought for the UFC and Bellator in various weight divisions. Before moving to Bellator, she competed in the women's bantamweight and flyweight divisions for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Liz Carmouche was the first UFC female mixed-martial-arts fighter openly gay and is a lesbian mixed fighter. In 2014, she was in a women's bantamweight fight against Ronda Rousey. Carmouche was an aviation electrician in the Marine Corps for five-years. She served three tours of duty in Iraq and the Middle East. Carmouche began her professional MMA life in 2010. She currently competes in the women's bantamweight division for the UFC.

Liz Carmouche now stands at 4-0 in Bellator's cage after a spectacular victory over Juliana Velasquez, former world champion. Her victory also landed her the Bellator flyweight championship. The win came as part of Bellator 278's main event, and it ended just 4:47 into Round Four. It was the first time Carmouche had defeated Velasquez. Velasquez was unbeaten in professional MMA.

Liz Carmouche is the daughter of an Air Force pilot. She grew up at Okinawa's military base. Her father was stationed there in the Air Force and her mother got married there. She went to a Christian school there, graduating in 2003. Now, she's studying at San Diego City College to become a kinesiologist.
