Hope Solo pleads guilty driving while intoxicated
Hope Solo, U.S. soccer's star, has pleaded guilty intoxicated driving. A judge in Forsyth County gave the 23-year-old suspended sentences, an active sentence of 30 days, and a substance abuse assessment. The judge gave Solo credit for time she spent in a rehab facility. The sentence includes a $2,500 penalty and the requirement for Solo to complete an assessment on substance abuse.

She was found in a Walmart parking garage and arrested
Hope Solo, a mother of two, has been featured in several news stories following her arrest at the Walmart parking lot near Winston-Salem in North Carolina. The mother of two children was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting police. These charges were added to the misdemeanor child abuse. Hope Solo was found unconscious in the driver's chair by a witness, so officers pulled her over. Solo and her 2 children were lying in the backseat.
She was charged in misdemeanor child abuse
Hope Solo was a former goalkeeper for U.S. Women's National Soccer Team. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, child abuse and driving while under the influence (DWI). On further investigation it was revealed that Solo was also being charged with misdemeanor Child Abuse. Solo was accused of domestic violence and the police supported her charges.
In 2016, she was removed from the Women's National Team.
Former U.S. Women's National Team member Hope Solo was suspended for 30 days from the team in 2016 after being arrested on two counts of domestic violence in 2014. This was the result of an altercation with her half-sister and her 17-year-old nephew. She will soon be able to play for the USWNT once again in February. The suspension comes on the heels of reports that Solo had a drinking problem and was intoxicated while driving in a U.S. soccer van.

She has had many run-ins avec law enforcement
The retired soccer player Hope Solo has had a series of run-ins with law enforcement. She was arrested in 2014 for assault and misdemeanors. Despite her plead of not guilty, the charges were dropped due to procedural lapses. Earlier this year, the city of Kirkland dropped domestic violence charges against the soccer star. Meanwhile, Solo denied all accusations.
