On May 11, the 144-player founders Cup field will feature the best players around the globe. This event, which is open to all players aged between 18 and 24, is a showcase for young talent. It's also one of most prestigious events on LPGA Tour. It boasts a $3 million purse, which is the largest outside of majors. Seven players are also ranked amongst the top 10 Rolex Rankings Players, including World No. 1 Jin Young Ko.

The Founders Cup takes place in the USA. The tournament was initially an invitational, but it is now a championship. The host team is included in the competition, as well as representatives from the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League and West Coast Junior B Lacrosse Leagues, the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse Leagues, and the First Nations Lacrosse Association.
The tournament is sponsored by Cognizant, a global consulting and technology firm. It was first played in 2011 but initially did not prove to be a success. It was not paid for its first two year and had no official money list.

To celebrate the 13 founding members of the LPGA Tour's Founders Cup, it was created. The tournament is played each year at the 18th fairway in Las Vegas. Golf Channel covers it. Karrie Webb was a past champion, along with Yani Tseng, Stacy Lewis, Hyo Joo Kim, and Stacy Lewis. Inbee, Anna Nordqvist and Hyojoo Kim won the Founders Cup twice.
