Former US women's soccer player Hope Solo has entered an alcohol treatment program. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and misdemeanor child abuse after a March 31 arrest. She is appealing for her induction in the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Her request has been delayed to 2023. When she was discovered unconscious behind the wheel, the incident took place with her twins. According to reports Hope Solo became so drunk that she couldn't perform a field test of sobriety and follow the instructions given by the police officer. She was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting arrest, as well as misdemeanor child abuse.

Hope Solo was scheduled to be inducted into National Soccer Hall of Fame just one month before her arrest. Hope requested that the ceremony be moved to 2023 in order for her to attend the program while she focuses on her recovery and her loved ones. Hope was originally scheduled for induction May 21, but the Hall of Fame granted her request to postpone it until 2023. Hope's decision to defer her induction was approved by the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame looks forwards to honoring Hope at the next ceremony.
