Morgan Brian suffered an injury during the first period. She took on a challenge from a Swedish defender, and was forced to leave. Anna-Marie Keighley (Sweden's goalkeeper) was unable to stop it.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki
Jonathan Lekkerimaki has the potential to become a top-six forward for the NHL. He is a strong skater and has excellent vision. Lekkerimaki was a top scorer for Sweden at the World Under-18 Championship last spring. He recently scored a goal against Canada. His goal was replayed on a Jumbotron, but it was not broadcast.
Tierna Davidson's World Cup debut
Davidson, who plays professionally with the Chicago Red Stars made her World Cup debut 16 month after they were crowned World Cup champions. The young defender was an important part of the squad, as she is a member of the US Women's National Team.

Stina Blackstenius
Stina BLACKSTENIS scored twice for Sweden in the first match against the U.S. and put the US on their back foot. Although her first goal was luck, she was also an integral part of the dominating Swedish effort. Sweden are the world champions. They defeated the Americans at the 2016 Olympics. Sweden had a 2-2 draw with the Americans in Stockholm in April but was able to thrash the Americans in Tokyo with a score of 4-0. Blackstenius's goals against world champions proved that Sweden is not to underestimate, despite all odds.
