Despite her upbringing in the United States, Gu Jianlin, a female Chinese-American athlete, made the decision to represent her mother's country, China, at the Olympic games. Many Americans were surprised by her decision, especially since it came at a time when tensions existed between the two countries. Many people even labeled her a traitor. She chose to represent her country's mother, which was not a popular choice. Society treated her differently than if her family had stayed in the United States.

Feminism

This study explores the presence of feminist ideologies within women's sports advertising. Although it is a small sample, it can give insight into the female audience for athletic products and the role feminism plays. It might inspire additional research. However, it is possible to draw more reliable conclusions with a larger sample. Further research could also help to explore the relationship between feminism and athletic values.

Size

Female Asian athletes are often portrayed as being large in news reports. They are also often praised for their physical strength and beauty. This kind of commentary has been a consistent feature in Asian-American Olympics coverage. Despite the prevalence of the stereotype, Asian-American athletes excel in numerous other sports as well.

Fragility

Asian American women have been making their journey to the Olympics and have been closely watched by national teams and fans. Zhu Yi has been mocked recently for falling during a team event. Zhu, who was born in China, gave up her American citizenship so she could compete for China.

Color

Sports have a complicated history. Despite the fact that most American female athletes are white, some Asian women have excelled in sports. The most successful and prominent Chinese athletes are those who compete in sports that are not dominated by Asians. Despite their talent and drive, many Asian women have had a difficult time.

Status

Asian female athletes have become more prominent by winning medals in international competitions and at the Olympic games. They are often role models and diplomats and speak out against injustice in both their personal and professional lives. Vogue Singapore celebrates seven female athletes from Asia in this issue.

Race

There has been a long history of stereotypes about race, especially in competitive sports. Asian athletes are often portrayed as weak, fragile and unfit for modern sports. Despite this, Asian female athletes are well-known and covered in news stories. Many stories focus on psychological characteristics and physical strength of the athletes.
