LPGA Tour players are eligible for a variety awards. Other awards for players include Player of Year. Each top-10 finish awards a player a certain number of points. Points are doubled for major championships as well as the Tour Championship. For example, 30 point for first place equals twelve points at second place. Another point is awarded for a third-place finish, while a fourth-place finish gives a player four points. Then, if a player is eighth-placed, she receives three points. For eighth place, players who finish in the ninth spot earn two points. Another award is the Vare Trophy, named for the player with the lowest scoring average for the season.

Louise Suggs is the founder

Louise Suggs (one of the founding members) of Ladies Professional Golf Association died at the tender age of 91. She was a pioneer of women's sport and was instrumental to the creation in 1950 of the LPGA Tour. She is a member of both the LPGA Hall of Fame as well as the World Golf Hall of Fame. Suggs has won at least one LPGA event in 13 consecutive years, and has won 61 LPGA championships.

Louise Suggs was the first Chinese player on the LPGA Tour

Louise Suggs is a Georgian native who won the U.S. Women's Open 1949 by 14 strokes. This was the biggest margin of victory in the event's storied history. As a teenager she won the U.S Women's Amateur as well as the British Women's Open. She was also nicknamed "the Great Distance Girl", by Bob Hope (a comedian who became a prominent LPGA member).

Annika Sorenstam began the 2008 LPGA season earlier than most. To celebrate her 70th career win, she won the SBS Open in Hawaii as well as the Michelob ULTRA Open. Women's Senior Golf Tour (LPGA Affiliate)

The Women's Senior Golf Tour is a golf tournament series for seniors organized by Jane Blalock's JBC Marketing. Although it is not owned by the LPGA, the tour is affiliated with it and since 2006, it has held a season-ending championship. The LPGA has also played events on the Legends Tour. LPGA also hosts events for younger females in addition the Legends Tour.

In an effort to combat climate change and promote environmental responsibility, the LPGA Tour has partnered with Dow to launch a digital hub called 'Celebrating the Green'. The hub contains information about LPGA initiatives, and highlights Dow's commitment to climate action and sustainable operations. LPGA will now offer OnCourse(r), its sustainability software program, through a partnership with Dow.
